8.0 Learning Objectives
Many of the techniques and approaches we mention in this section can apply to most levels. No matter what age and ability level you are teaching, you should always try to promote learning through fun, accommodate different learning styles, have transparent classroom management systems in place, and aim to be a positive role model.
After completion of this section, you should be able to
- Understand how to teach different age groups.
- Understand why students take ESL and EFL classes.
- Identify different learning levels.
- Identify how to place students according to their level.
The next few units are divided into four-to-six- year-olds, seven-to-nine- year-olds, ten-to-twelve-year-olds and teenagers and seniors. The reason for this is that there is a significant distinction between these age groups when using different learning techniques and methods.
